DIVA WINES- Benefiting Local Women and Children

BEAMSVILLE, ON- On July 30th 2010, amid the annual hustle and bustle of the summer season, Legends Estates Winery prepared for the official release of the new wine brand, DIVA, in the LCBO. Legends Estates Winery is a third generation family enterprise invested in the health and happiness of our local community. We, the Lizak family, are proud to present a label of love, DIVA - a wine that every woman can call her own.

In the wake of several wine labels targeted to the female wine consumer, DIVA wines literally stand out on their own, in that proceeds from each bottle sold will benefit a local women’s charity, Women’s Place of South Niagara. This organization offers support, counseling and safe shelter for abused women and children within the region.

Although inspired with female beneficiaries in mind, DIVA wines can be easily enjoyed by everyone, even a DIVO (the male counterpart to a diva). Featuring unique wine varietals of white, rosé and red wine, the DIVA brand offers a wine for any palate, crafted to be approachable and easy drinking, a true celebration of wine and life. Continuing in the tradition of the winery to offer rare varietals from Niagara, the DIVA wines include an award-winning white blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, a ‘Gold Medal’ Malbec Rosé, and a unique red blend of Ontario grown Malbec and Merlot.

Nearly three years have passed since the official launch of the Divas. Some alterations to the outside of the bottle have been made but it is the same great tasting blends on the inside. The most important observation that can be made is that Diva Wine is doing what it set out to do, encourage, support and enjoy! Legends’ is happy to share this inspiring story for others to have awareness that there is help out there for those in need:

Both our DIVA White (Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc #179143) and DIVA Red (Malbec-Merlot #179135) are available at participating LCBO stores, and restaurants throughout the province of Ontario. Each wine retails for $15.50 per bottle at both the LCBO and at our winery location, 4888 Ontario St. North in Beamsville, Ontario.

We encourage all customers of the LCBO to purchase these products not only to support the local wine industry but also to allow the opportunity for women to step forward.
